Mirrors Within Mirrors (Work in progress) / 2018 / High-definition digital video / 185:1 aspect ratio, colour, sound, 45 minutes
Mirrors Within Mirrors (Work-in-progress) is a video installation work inspired by Akira Kurosawa’s Rashomon. It employs a multiple-narrative structure that retells a well known legend through the viewpoint of various characters, thus providing different and contradictory versions of the same story. The artwork aims to explore the multi-faceted nature of historiography and the complexities of understanding and presenting history.
